Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need access to a gym or any special equipment before I sign up to one of your courses?

All of our courses are designed with at-home training in mind, meaning you won't need to use a gym if you don't want to. In terms of equipment, you may be surprised at how little you actually need in order to achieve an effective workout. Many exercises can be performed using just your body weight. That being said, we usually recommend picking up a set of long resistance bands, a set of short resistance bands, and a couple of sets of dumbbells, to get you started. This way you'll be able to add more resistance to your exercises and more variety to your workouts. There’ll be more information inside the course, but if you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, just drop us a message at info@rachelamies.co.uk and we'll help you out.

I have absolutely no experience with strength training, are any of these courses suitable for me?

All of our courses are suitable for the complete beginner. That being said, our flagship course, A Beginners Guide To Strength Training, is the most comprehensive in terms of equipping you with everything you'll need, right from scratch. Our courses are built with beginners in mind, but they are also suitable for anyone who's gained a bit more experience but perhaps isn't sure that what they're doing is helping them achieve the results they really want.

I don't know if I'm fit enough, are any of the courses suitable for me?
One of the many benefits of strength training is that it's accessible and tailor-able to pretty much everyone. You don't need to be super fit already; it’s easy to adjust the volume of your training to make sure you get through feeling like you've worked hard, but without feeling like you might throw up or collapse. Neither do you need to be a certain shape or size. With so many different exercises and exercise modifications available, there are plenty of options to ensure you get a full body workout without being put into positions that feel uncomfortable or impossible.

Am I too old to start doing something like this?
Age certainly shouldn’t be a barrier. In fact, the older you get, the more important it becomes to get lifting. Visions of fit young people lifting heavy and flexing their muscles in the gym can make it feel like this whole game is just exclusively for them. But the truth is, that’s not where most of us are at and with a little guidance, anyone at any age can start strength training. Besides, the whole purpose of this course is to empower you to take control of your own training, which means you'll be able to adjust the intensity of your workouts to whatever you feel comfortable with.

I have injuries, are these courses suitable for me?
If you have any injuries, illnesses or you’re taking any medications, you’re advised to get clearance from your doctor before you begin any physical activity. Depending on the nature of your injury/illness, modifications to your training program and the exercises may be required, in which case it might be more suitable to seek one-to-one support to ensure your training meets your needs. If you're unsure, just drop us a message at info@rachelamies.co.uk

When do the courses start and finish?
Once you’re all signed up, you’ll be able to access your course materials almost immediately. There’s no time limit on completing a course; it’s go-at-your-own-pace and you’ll have lifetime access to everything inside.

Is there a cancellation policy or refund guarantee?
Yes! If you’re not absolutely happy, just let us know within the first 14 days of signing up and we’ll issue you with a full refund*. Our courses are not for everyone; if you’re after a quick fix or a beasting, we’d recommend looking elsewhere. But if you’re keen to take control of your health and fitness and lay the foundations for some serious, long-term positive change, then we're confident that you’re going to love what’s inside.
